At Mother Earth Gardens, 90% of the annuals, perennials, veggies and herbs are grown using non-synthetic fertilizers. Choose from locally grown fruit and ornamental trees as well as pumpkins and living, plantable Christmas trees raised using integrated pest management instead of pesticide sprays. In the shop select from handmade local goods including hats, scarves, jewelry, wind chimes and kid's coloring kits. They received the Minnesota Women's Press Best Garden Center award in 2009 and a Metro Blooms Award for 4 years.

June 22, 2009 Mother Earth is great! Not only is it beautiful, but the staff are helpful and go out of their way to make sure that you get what you want. They have a huge selection of Native plants and beautiful pottery. I say make a day of it -- go to the Riverview Wine Bar, then to see a midday movie at the Riverview Theater and then head to Mother Earth for some great gardening experiences!

June 16, 2009 I love this store! I love it so much I no longer have a lawn. The staff is very friendly and really helpful. Over the winter they offered free classes that I took part in and I learned a lot. I think they are a great resource and I have only had great experiences here! I highly recommend Mother Earth.

June 08, 2009 I live within blocks of Mother Earth Gardens which makes me one of the luckiest gardeners in the Twin Cities. There is a reason they are consistently voted the best garden center in Minneapolis and St. Paul. They specialize in locally, organically grown and native plants and have an abundance of knowledge and friendly service to share with the community whether novice or master gardener. Whether you need a few staples or are there for a full landscaping job Paige, Karen and the rest of the Mother Earth staff are there to help.

June 04, 2009 I may be biased because I live within walking distance of Mother Earth Gardens, but this is one of the happiest places in the neighborhood! The staff is abundant and happy, the selection is great, and the vibe is always a good one. We've gotten good advice on lawns, vegetables, and perennials. They also have a small library of gardening books inside that you can browse. The selection is huge--trees, grass seed, perennials, natives, annuals, indoor plants, corn gluten and many other things in bulk. It's a fun outing on a nice day!
