E3 2008 Conference- The Midwest's Premier Energy, Economic and Environmental Conference

This carbon-neutral and zero-waste event will educate the community on easy ways to save money and energy.  Classes and activities throughout the day include: how to become a savvy eco-shopper, bike repair, the MN Energy Challenge, eco-art, and sustainable living. Plenty of giveaways (Fair Trade coffee, bus passes, CFLs, and more) add another reason to stop by the fair.

Live: Parade of Community Gardens
In it's third year, this metrowide event features 45 community gardens across the Twin Cities, Stillwater, Mankato and Northfield.  Participants can take a self-guided tour (download the brochure from www.gardenworksmn.org to map your route) or hang around their neighborhood garden to acquaint themselves with the people who make these community spaces happen.  The parade will feature a variety of attractions including: "music, labyrinth, cool treats, massage, chickens, heirloom tomato festival, a beehive" and much more!  Check out www.gardenworksmn.org for all the details.

Live: Minnesota Garlic Festival

On Earth Day, the Seattle Mariners are set to host the first carbon-neutral baseball game in major league history.

The Mariners are working with Seattle City Light-- and the utility’s Green Up program to power Safeco Field with wind energy all day April 22. Additionally, the team is purchasing carbon offsets for all its travel and operations that day while also promoting waste reduction and recycling. More...
