June 06, 2008 Please note that this description is incomplete. The companion ticket is ONLY good for the Cascades. I was really looking forward to a trip on the Empire, and was pretty disappointed to find this out. We have ridden the Cascades many times and have always been very happy with it. It's just that we wanted to go in a different direction, and from the description, thought the Chinook Book would help us do that :-(

November 01, 2007 It might run late sometimes (I've heard from friends, it's never been late for me). Even so it is so much more pleasant and scenic to ride the train that drive and get stuck in that awful traffic!
