I'm sorry; I wish I could say otherwise. I am an avid green renovator and I'd like to say EcoHaus is a great resource. Maybe I'm expecting too much of a local building supplies company that used to call itself Environmental Building Supplies. I think they should have, or at least be knowledgeable about, a much wider range of products. They're boutique; the products they carry are very limited. That's OK but they don't even point you elsewhere; they just don't seem to know where you can get stuff they don't carry. I expect more from a company that called itself Environmental Building Supplies. Maybe that's why they renamed themselves EcoHaus, perhaps repositioning themselves a little less as a go-to resource. I wanted formaldehyde-free MDF baseboards and they just said, "We don't have that" and couldn't tell me where I could get them. I went to another company, Emerson Hardwoods, (conventional, not green), who said they carried it in 4x8' panels and could cut it down -- so I did! I have consistently been disappointed by EcoHaus.

I had a great time moving into our apartment this summer, and a lot of that was thanks to Environmental Building Supplies. We needed to paint just about everything, but we wanted an eco-friendly alternative to paints found at other home building stores. My husband was the Paint Department Supervisor of a Home Depot for years, so he definitely wanted thick, smooth paint that was easy to work with. On top of that, we were working around our 2 year old, and didn't want the smell of VOC all over the house! We got all of our paint from Environmental Building Supplies- the American Pride is low VOC paint and had a huge amount of colors to choose from. It also went on really well, it was definitely quality paint. We were really happy they had a little table and wooden toys to entertain our toddler while we looked at paint too! When we purchase a home, we hope to use them for flooring as well!
