Main Responsibilities
• In collaboration with Market Director, create and implement a
complete sales and promotion strategy for Blue Sky Guide print and
ecometro.com online advertising sales in the Twin Cities market;
• Manage aspects of the Twin Cities advertising sales program to keep team on schedule with deadlines and meet revenue targets
• Collaborate with Market Director in setting and achieving long- and short-term sales targets;
• Prospect new accounts and manage established advertising sales relationships;
• Maintain effective follow-up with advertising accounts and provide excellent customer service;
• Perform various administrative duties, such as invoicing, mailings and answering phones;
• Participate in outreach efforts to support advertising sales promotion and growth of overall brand awareness;
• Collaborate with market teams and main office in Portland, Oregon.
Required Skills
• Self-motivated, solution-oriented, creative, outgoing, positive and respectful personality;
• BA or BS degree;
• 1-2 years advertising sales experience or 2-4 years relevant sales experience;
• Must be comfortable setting and achieving short- and long-term sales goals;
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, verbal and written;
• Comfortable developing relationships over the phone and face-to-face;
• A basic understanding and strong interest in local and national sustainability market trends;
• Comfortable and experienced using Excel spreadsheets and databases;
• Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends;
• Ability to lift 30-lb boxes of books;
• Valid driverʼs license and access to a vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided).

Blue Sky Guide, now in its eighth edition, is a unique annual publication promoting local and sustainable businesses and healthy living in the Twin Cities area. Its companion website, ecometro.com, is the Twin Citiesʼ premiere online source for green and local products, merchants and ideas. The Advertising Sales Manager is responsible for prospecting new advertising sales accounts, managing established relationships, developing and implementing advertising sales promotions and achieving sales targets for both print and online.
This is a full-time, salaried position plus commission (base salary commensurate with experience). Medical and dental benefits begin the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
