Fashion: Our Favorite Boutiques

Clothing is one thing everyone can agree on — we all wear something, every day. Look for bamboo, hemp, 100% organic cotton and newer materials like soy fibers. Better yet, explore vintage and consignment shops.
Avoid non-organic cotton. Greening your closet is a small change with a major impact, with the bonus of wearing your environmental ethos on your sleeve.

Buying from local shops and designers is another great way to support our community. Many small designers have wares at Design Collective (1311 26th St W), where you can ask for lines like The Fit Hat and Betty Scagnetti, who both use recycled fabrics. Fortunately we have the ultimate green boutique for everything from 100% organic Loomstate jeans to organic Teko socks at Birch Clothing (2309 W 50th St).

For belts and shoes that are animal free,
Fast and Furless (294 Snelling Ave S) is a unique addition to your wardrobe. For outdoor wear or casual wear, we love the surprisingly hip shirts, skirts and more from Patagonia (1648 Grand Ave).

Can’t find just the right outfit locally? Here are our favorite online ecoboutiques: Men and women:
thegreenloop.com, sameunderneath.com, twice-shy.com. Women:btcelements.com, pangaya.com and cocosshoppe.com.
