Ignite is a free event that started in Seattle but now has nationwide branches. Presenters are given five minutes to teach the audience anything at all with slides. Lectures range from the history of fonts to how the police bust "Johns" (look it up). In the latest Ignite Portland I caught a beautiful meditation on biking from a Portland mother on the verge of celebrating three car free years. Her confidence and calm are paired with information for families who want to bike.

Click here for the five minute video, you may have to scroll to find the presentation at right.

Visit her blog, Cafe Mama.
