Yesterday you may have seen speedy, alien looking riders in the time trials on Naito parkway for the start of the Mt Hood Cycling Classic, one of the top pro races in the country. The women's races will be qualifiers for the Olympics.

Today 150 men and 90 women will ride a course circling Mt Tabor in SE Portland. The women's race starts at 3, and men launch at 5. All riders start at the same time, which makes for exciting spectator fun. The lap is 1.3 miles with a 135ft elevation gain. Bring a cowbell and watch the fun.

If you can't make it today, go out for the weekend races at Mt Hood. More info at www.mthoodcyclingclassic.com.

Photos from the time trials can be seen at Bike Portland.
