If you missed it last year, be sure to take it in this year as the
creative energy behind this show is amazing! I was fortunate to be a
judge at last year's show and the ensembles that strutted down that
runway were truly inspired. Check out

I am on the far right in the tallest of
the recycled Styrofoam peanut wigs, which, incidentally, I thought just
might make a permanent indent in my head it was so tight. Some of the
highlights of the show were the gown made from recycled vinyl mini blinds (photo at right), a recycled coffee cup wedding gown, the aluminum tab flapper dress and faux fur jacket made from cassette tape, and the Crown Royale bag gown. Truly incredible creations painstakingly pulled together from trash.

What: Junk to Funk Recycled Fashion Show Contest Professional artists, apparel designers, along with the creative and crafty public will not want to miss this truly unique opportunity to flash your trash on the runway while competing for cash prizes up to $500. Pieces of wearable art and fashion that are being sought should be made out of found objects, recycled materials and things you might normally find in the trash.
Submissions will be judged on:
1) percent of recycled material
2) creativity
3) craftsmanship
