Walking
Find the best way to trot around your area with maps for every area of the city free from portlandonline.com/transportation. Residents of Southeast can order a walking kit including a pedometer through the site as a part of the Ten Toe Express Program. Families can participate in National Walk to School Day in early October.
Transit
Use the TripPlanner to find your way around town via bus and MAX light rail. The Transit Tracker is also helpful for real time bus schedules. Trips on MAX to the airport are efficient and often faster than driving, the average trip is about 39 minutes from Pioneer Courthouse Square to PDX.

Seattle Trips
Take Amtrak instead of driving to Seattle or other nearby cities. Shared Route runs biodiesel busses between Portland and Seattle (stopping in Olympia) and you can take your pet, bicycle, and even your favorite music to share. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday service.
