Go, Eat: East Bay Evolution Eat Real Bike Tour

Join a tour for two-wheeled foodies! Begin and end at the Eat Real Festival at Jack London Square. Peddle along Oakland's waterfront and meet local culinary artisans, learn about their specialties and sample their creations. Members of East Bay Bicycle Coalition or Walk Oakland Bike Oakland receive $10 off cost. Bike rentals available from Bay Area Bikes. $40.

Go: Exploring Central Baja California
The 1,000-mile-long Baja peninsula, with its mountainous spine, offshore island beaches, and waters teeming with wildlife, offers adventurous travelers a host of opportunities to explore its rich desert environment. In tonight's slide presentation, Trudi Angell, longtime Baja resident and REI Adventures’ guide, will introduce you to central Baja's natural and cultural wonders, as she shares some of her favorite outdoor adventures. Trudi will discuss efforts to protect sea turtles, whales, and centuries-old, mural rock art, and give you tips on ecologically- and culturally-sustainable Baja travel.

Eat: City of Lafayette Farmers Market in September
The City of Lafayette will have a trial farmers market at the downtown Plaza Park on the first three Thursday evenings of September. This market will be more local than most, with most of the farmers coming from less than 100 miles! The purpose of the trial is to see if there are any traffic or parking issues, and to gauge the impact on local businesses.
