With so much happening around the Puget Sound, how do you choose what you're going to do with your free time? We've compiled a list of fun and educational events to help guide you through the compiledoming week. We love our urban lifestyle, but find we need to regularly balance ourselves with treks outside of the city. With fall unquestionably upon us, we're itching to enjoy the harvest at one of our favorite farms:

Bring the whole family to celebrate the harvest! Enjoy the 5.5 acre Tribute to the Tractor Corn Maze, storytelling, live music, hayrides, farm animals, Kettle Corn, and pumpkins. Farmstand/U-pick with seasonal produce.

Play, Eat: Issaquah Salmon Days
Join the fun this October at the Northwest's most-loved, award-winning community event! The salmon are returning to our lakes, streams and our historic, downtown hatchery! The Issaquah Salmon Days Festival is 39 years old and we're celebrating with special fishy attractions: the Grande Parade, Foods of the Whirled, "whirled-class" arts & crafts, whirling live entertainment, whirledly-wild Field of Fun for kids of all ages and a whirl of sporting attractions. Free admission.

Live: Seattle/Shoreline Solar Homes Tour
Come see how solar power works in Seattle and the Puget Sound. See how your neighbors are using solar to power their homes. As part of the ASES National Solar Homes Tour, Seattle City Light, NWSEED and Solar Washington will be hosting a kick off event including a Solar Works! In Seattle presentation, and solar demonstrations from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation and the International Solar Cookers.

Play: Lincoln Park Generation Green Volunteer Day
Members of the Seattle community will have a chance to give back to the park that has given Seattleites so much enjoyment over the years. Generation Green Volunteers will help remove invasive species and replace them with native plants in an effort to help restore the park's natural vegetation.

Play: Paper Making and Nature Journals - Part 1 of 2
In this first part of two series, you’ll make your own set of nature inspired homemade paper. The following week you’ll combine illustration paper with your homemade paper and create your own nature journal. Join our naturalists on a guided walk through the forest and learn the basics of nature journaling. 2 part class series costs $10.00. Ages 10-99 and class size is limited to 20 participants.
