The Central Northeast Neighbors Coalition is holding a community recycling fundraiser on Saturday, September 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m, in the Madison High School parking lot.
It sounds like this day is going to solve a lot of my problems! I can finally get rid of a lot of the junk I have felt guilty about that is sitting in my garage. Following is a list of things that can be recycled:
TVs,
computers, DVD players and VCRs, printers, electronics (basically anything that
plugs in), microwaves, small and large appliances (no cooling units), power tools,
cell phones, lamps, Styrofoam, car and household batteries, unbroken
fluorescent bulbs, and other metal and plastic items.
Many items can be recycle for free, but the following items carry a fee:
TVs and Microwaves $15.00 (TVs over 36” $20.00 each)
Computer monitors $10.00
Styrofoam, electronics, bulbs and batteries carry a nominal fee
Proceeds will help to buy a new copy machine for the Central
NE Neighbors Coalition’s office. (Hey, it's even a good cause beyond avoiding killing us all with leaking battery fluid!)
