Socialism November 6, 2009

Here's an event that you might find interesting.  Details listed below:

Come to a film showing of:

"The Black Press: Soldiers without Swords"

This fascinating film chronicles the important role of Black community newspapers and their political and historic contribution to literacy under slavery, civil rights, and liberation struggles. Many of these papers were ahead of their times, too, for employing women as photographers, reporters and editors. Stick around for a post-video discussion on the role of radical journalists and news media today.

Saturday, November 7, 7:00pm

819 N. Killingsworth St., Portland

(1/2 block west of N. Albina; Tri-Met bus lines #72 and #4)
