Make your own furniture at The ReFindFurniture workshop in the ReBuilding Center, which offers classes (registration through PCC) to craft bookshelves, countertops, drawers, and mosaics from reclaimed materials.
Get cozy on sofas and mattresses that do not use PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl ether) from companies like IKEA. Or you can shop for furniture and housewares at Olio United (1028 SE Water, Suite 120), which also carries salvaged fixtures and bamboo furniture. Resource Revival, another local company, gathers used bike materials and refashions them into furniture, tealights, and a bike chain bowl.
