The Oakland Community Farmers' Market is held in the Laurel District on Saturdays YEAR ROUND. Sponsored and maintained by Oakland Food Connection, a nonprofit that strives to promote nutritional awareness, access to healthy foods and the connections between people and our planet. The market includes certified organic produce from J&P Organic Farm based out of Salinas, CA and a youth-led prepared food booth called the Purple Lawn Cafe.

Fifty two children's authors will be featured at 12 different book stores throughout Northern California under the sponsorship of the No. CA. Children's Booksellers' Association. Note that the store hosts a story time for young children every Wednesday.

Eat: Lamorinda Green Drinks
The next Lamorinda Green Drinks will be held at the Lafayette Book Store. There will be wine, beer, and appetizers. Donations collected for drinks. There will also be a slide show featuring what local businesses are doing to go green. Lamorinda Green Drinks is an informal opportunity for local businesses and residents th at are interested in green practices and sustainability to socialize, network and learn from one another.

Live: Green is Gold Expo
The Richmond Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Richmond present the second annual Green Is Gold Expo located at the newly renovated Craneway Pavilion at the historic Ford Point Building. The Expo is free to the community and includes exhibitors showcasing their products, services, ideas and causes; networking opportunities; green practices that save money and the environment; door prizes, free food & no-host bar; and free e-waste and appliance recycling (accepted items). This event supports Richmond’s many initiatives encouraging better green practices (waste minimization, energy conservation, recycling, etc.).
